Essay Plan.
For my essay I think I'm going to go in the direction of what blogs can be used for. West's article talks about how identity can be shown through your posts and that's exactly what I'm doing for this class. Professor Thompson has us talk about our reading with no formal format to understand the text better. I might struggle with how I'll tie in Rettberg's point in my essay. I'm not sure yet how i'll do that, but i'll figure it out.

Annotated Bibliography
My 3rd article that I'm using for my paper will be my own blog. So here it goes...
Phouthavanh, Thiphalat (2010) Thipeeezy Ooweee, Blog.
The purpose of this blog is to create an identity through the text. From reading Kathleen C. West's article "Weblogs and l iterary response: Socially situated identites and hybrid social languages in English class blogs." I feel that my professor, Rikki Thompson, is trying to do the same thing that West did with her students. She is trying to discover the identity of her students by the blog entries that they write. By doing this, she feels that her students will have a better understanding of the literature when they don't have to write they're responses to the text in a formal format. Through my personal blog, I find it much easier to write about anything, whether it's about the reading or the writing we do in class.

West
I'm still not sure yet what I want my argument to be in my essay using West's article. But seriously, when do I ever? I'm so undecisive. West does make some pretty good points in her article though. All she wants is for her students to create these online identities. I think she's trying to prove that by using these blogs and allowing students to be whoever they want to be online instead of sitting through these literature readings, then writing about them in all these crazy formats that they'll understand the text more. West examines the differences in behavior, speech and their writing online than when her students write papers or who they are outside of class. Mmm, like I said before, I'm not sure yet what I want to talk about in my paper. But I'm sure by the end of class on Tuesday, I'll have everything figured out.

Reflection on Essay 1!
While writing the first essay of the quarter, I kept thinking to myself, "man, I do not want to do this." But then I got started and it became very easy. At first I didn't start right away because I was researching a blog about desserts and I really didn't want to do that anymore. So I started looking at other blogs until my Professor helped me out and suggested a fashion blog that I could start my research in. I took the time to look over the blog, and found it interesting enough. So I wasted a little time looking at different blogs when I could've been writing my essay. But honestly, why would I want to write a boring essay? I think the peer advising Professor Rikki Thompson had us do was a great help. You get to hear everyone's feedback on your essay, and tweak it a little before you have to turn in the final draft. Overall, I found this essay simple. Once you figure out what kind of idetity you were looking for, then everything should've fallen into place. I kept the question of "what is fashionista?" in my head the whole time and it made writing the essay easier.

Incorporating They Say, I Say
In my essay I used an example they explained in the book and somehow incorporated it into my essay. It involves writing and blogging! I guess you'll just have to read my paper to find out.
